SPECIFICATIONS (CONTINUED)
11. A letter from the Surety Company reflecting the Surety Company’s history and experience with
vendor providing the Security Electronics and the current bonding limit. Vendors who do not meet
these specifications, fail to turn in a valid prequalification, or do not have an acceptable reputation of
good service will not be allowed to bid.
System
This Division includes the requirements and operational characteristics for a Security Electronics System
which is 100%, integrated with each other component and section of this specification.
Submittals
1. General: Submit the following in accordance with conditions of Security Electronic Expectations.
2. Product data for each type of product specified.
3. Submittal package detailing the Security Electronics system including but not limited to the
following:
a. Deliver a complete working PC station with all graphic maps for this project with all icons
functioning for this project. The working touchscreen station shall provide a SIMULATOR,
which will allow Harris County to simulate the activation of any and all devices on the project
including, but not limited to, intercom call-ins, door status changes, door breach alarms, UPS or
surge protector alarms, panic alarms, watch-tour routes and completion results, panel and/or
touchscreen shutdowns, camera selections, both manual and automatic call up, task group
assignments, automated help screens defining each icon, automated operation and user manual,
alarm queue, intercom queue and active window functions. Provide complete operation and
navigation for Harris County on this system. Systems which require PLC’s as attachments for
submittal purposes will not be accepted. Standard “demo” software of partially working systems
with graphics from another project will not be accepted. At the end of 1 month’s review Harris
County shall return the computer to vendor.
b. Touchscreen screen graphical layouts on 36” x 24” D-Size drawings.
c. Equipment cabinet arrangement on 36” x 24” D-Size drawings.
d. Power circuits on 36” x 24” D-Size drawings.
e. System riser diagram on 36” x 24” D-Size drawings - including all interconnecting wiring, sizing
and color codes. Include manufacturers wire type where required.
f. PLC configurations on 36” x 24” D-Size drawings.
4. Wiring diagrams, detailing wiring for power, signal and control, differentiating clearly between
manufacturers installed wiring and field installed wiring. Identify terminals to facilitate installation,
operation, and maintenance.
5. Submit a power system design spreadsheet of power loading for all DC power supply circuits, AC
UPS circuits, and AC normal power circuits required by the security system on 36” x 24” D-Size
drawings. The spreadsheet shall consist of each circuit/device controlled by the security system with
each device's steady state and in-rush load, and a loading summary of all device types for each
circuit. This design requires coordination with other subcontractors who provide such equipment as
(but not limited to) the door locks and any other device controlled by the system.
6. Any substitutions for specified equipment must be pre-approved by the Engineer at least 10 working
days prior to bid date. Provide complete product data, diagrams and block diagrams for substitution.
ANY SUBSTITUTIONS THAT WERE NOT PRE-APPROVED will be denied after the bid.
