5. Vendor will be required, before the award on the contract, to demonstrate to the HCJPD team that it
has the necessary facilities, ability, experience, and financial resources to provide the services
specified in this bid in a satisfactory manner.
6. Vendor will be required to work around and/or accommodate on-going operations without disrupting
services, utilities or procedures.
7. All vendor personnel should have documented training to meet and exceed the OSHA requirements
in safety.
8. All vendor personnel shall possess the appropriate skills, experience, and competence and if
applicable, any required certification or license issued by City of Houston/State of Texas specific to
the work they will perform.
9. Vendor will develop a turn-key quotation with detailed breakdown of materials and labor to complete
the work to cover all aspects of the work to be performed on this project.
10 Vendor shall not use contracted personnel on this project.
11. Vendor will conduct operational demonstration and/or equipment in-service at appropriate milestones
to ensure delivery of specified functionality.
12. Vendor costs associated with developing the bid will not be reimbursed by Harris County.
13. Vendor will submit full details on all mounting brackets and equipment, as it must fit within the
current room design aesthetics.
14. Vendor will follow Harris County project planning, scheduling and change control processes as
applicable to this project.
SECURITY ELECTRONIC EXPECTATIONS
Related Documents Drawings and general provisions of RFP, including General Conditions and
Requirements apply to Equipment and Furnishing sections. The Security Electronics General 2012 series
of sections will be referred to in this specification as the “Security Electronics” or “Security Electronics
Division”.
Summary of Work
1. Vendor shall design, provide and install all conduit, raceway, including junction boxes and standard
backboxes with pull strings for all sections of the Security Electronics Division. All conduit/raceway
shall meet the requirements as specified and described, including all applicable codes. All security
electronics cabling shall be in conduit from the device to the SEC rooms. If cable tray is allowed
then the conduit shall be run to within 12” of the tray. Wire shall not be run plenums unless in
conduit.
2. Vendor shall provide and install 120VAC hookups to head-end equipment provided by the Security
Electronics Division including UPS and emergency power hookups.
3. Vendor shall hookup any lighting, outlet and any other 120VAC switch-legs to utility control panels
provided by the Security Electronics Division.
4. All other work (wire, wire installation, terminations and mounting) shall be performed by the systems
vendors’ own employees. Vendors that cannot provide complete turn-key solutions with their own in-
house staff, less conduit, will not be permitted to bid this project. This will give Harris County a
“Single Source Responsibility” format.
